Response to COVID-19

The Governor and health officials in Michigan have made a number of recommendations to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, one of which is to postpone or cancel large group gatherings.

In light of this, we will not be gathering to worship at Trinity Church on Sunday mornings through July. We’re also canceling all worship gatherings, group programs, and events in our building through July. Please consider scheduled events after this date tentative at this time.

However, our worship leaders WILL continue to broadcast the worship service as planned, and we want to encourage you to worship with us by radio on WHTC (1450 AM or 99.7 FM) or on your computer at this link.  We are also offering a drive-in service starting at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings.  Starting June 21, we will allow people to social distance outside in lawn chairs, weather permitting.

We want to encourage you to take the wisdom of these agencies seriously. Trinity is blessed to have faithful members that will attend rain or shine, and many of our congregation would gladly risk illness to attend worship.

With this virus, the more that folks gather, the more the community is put at risk of infection. This puts individuals in danger and could overwhelm our healthcare system. This virus can be carried and spread even if you don’t have any symptoms.

As the church, we’re called not only to consider our own health, but the impact our decisions can make on those we come in contact with and especially the most vulnerable among us.

Your Consistory and ministry staff are discussing how we will worship, fellowship, serve, and be the Body of Christ in the weeks to come. Pastors Deb and Phil will be available by email or phone. Please pray for wisdom and for the Holy Spirit to guide us in this season.
